Charlie’s second album brings together songs from artists that have shaped her music and includes new interpretations of songs from acclaimed writers including Mary Chapin Carpenter, Alison Krauss, Kate Rusby and Richard Thompson.

Charlie chose to work with sound engineer Chris Thornton-Smith who produced the pure acoustic sound of Charlie’s first album ‘Sleeping at the Station’. However, if the first album was an introduction to Charlie’s vocal acumen, writing and guitar skills, this second outing is a complex band sound with sublime guitar playing from Tom Sweeney (Kerfuffle) and BBC Young Musician of the Year finalist, Jim Molyneux (4Square, Demon Barber’s Time Gentlemen Please and Royal Northern College of Music Symphony Orchestra), along with award winning piano accordionist Harriet Bartlett and Chris Thornton-Smith adding acoustic guitar and keyboards.

Charlie said: “I felt I wanted to take some time to recognise some of the brilliant writers and performers who made me want to pick up a guitar and start singing. After taking time out to complete my degree and spending time with my son, I was really excited to get back in the studio and I felt right at home. I was very fortunate to work with Chris, Tom, Jim and Harriet who’ve worked so hard to get everything just right. I’m looking forward to stepping out on stage with such talented musicians to perform this album live.”
