June 2014

Following on from a successful gig in her hometown last month at the Sheffield Food Festival, Charlie was really excited to be back playing and showcasing some new material.

Thanks to all who came out to support, it was lovely to see so many friendly faces. Earlier this month Charlie travelled to the West Midlands to record on blues singer/ guitarist, Sunjay Brayne's new studio album. She lent her vocals to three of the tracks and had great fun doing something a bit different. Charlie met Sunjay back in 2012 when he became the winner of the Wath Festival Young Performers Award, which she has organised every year up until 2014.

Speaking of which, Charlie's last year organising the competition was over the May Bank Holiday this year where fiddle/ vocalist Hannah Cumming took the prize at the festival. It was a wonderful way for Charlie to hand over organising duties to another enthusiastic member of the committee and stand down for now.

Charlie will be very busy this summer mostly with her photography work, she has already done publicity shots for a number of musicians including Rose Redd and also Sunjay's latest album promo. Though she will be back performing in September at Stourbridge Folk Festival and playing some of the new material again, make sure you get your tickets early from www.stourbridgefolkclub.com.
