August 2012

It's been a little while since we wrote a newsletter, but we have a few updates to tell you about.

Firstly, the festival season has gone very well for Charlie this year. She took headlining sets at Boston Music Festival in Lincolnshire and Worrall Festival on the outskirts of Sheffield, both accompanied by guitarist Tom Sweeney playing the new Ghosts & Heroes material.

Then there was a slot at the 40th anniversary event of Wath Festival in South Yorkshire with duo partner, Harriet Bartlett and a great slot with country music group, Sweet Dixie Dreams at Moonbeams Wold Top Festival in the picturesque setting of Wold Top Brewery, North Yorkshire.

Charlie was set to join Sweet Dixie Dreams at Didmarton Bluegrass Festival near Cirencester on 31st August, but due to scheduling clashes she is unable to attend this concert and the lovely Katriona Gilmore will be covering for her along with special guests, the Carrivick Sisters. One not to miss!

Charlie has also been very busy recently with her photography business, which is what she gets up to when she's not on stage. You can check out her work on www.charliebarkerphotography.com and at www.facebook.com/charliebarkerphotography.

Preparations are already underway for her tour of Germany with Harriet Bartlett, they are playing several dates in the north of the country in October. But before that you can catch a UK date in September in the North West at the Bothy Folk Club and two solo gigs in Worksop and Hull.

Check back to the gig listings on the new look www.charliebarkermusic.com, which is now compatible with all your smart phones and tablet devices.
