What a month we've had in May!
Charlie was invited to join her friends Tom Bliss and Den Miller as a special guest on their latest tour raising money for the MS Society, who help fund medical research and support those who live with Multiple Sclerosis.
As you may already be aware, Charlie has lived with MS since diagnosis in 2023 and has been treated with a stem cell transplant. Tom's daughter, Ellie, also lives with the condition and was the inspiration for him to start his fundraising journey.
Tom had already raised an amazing £10,000 in previous years through charitable concerts and he is already smashing his original targets set for this year. Raising the Rafters Folk Club in Rotherham sold out completely raising £1235 and Wetherby Folk Club raised £1083 - huge thanks to all who attended and donated.
Charlie said, "I've benefited greatly from a treatment that a medical trial has funded and it's changed everything, giving me a second chance at living with a good quality of life. I was delighted that Tom invited me as a special guest. It feels so fulfilling and positive that I can give something back. It is also a great opportunity to raise awareness and talk to people about MS. More than 150,000 people live with this autoimmune disease in the UK alone and women are two to three times more likely to be affected."
Tom and Den's tour continues till the end of the month and you can check the dates, fundraising progress and donate here.
